Can I get cover in Tokyo
Comparison sites answer “how cheap?” We answer the question that actually decides everything: which insurers will take you at all. Already left home, turned 74, booked one-way, or stopped having an address? Someone still covers you. This passport finds them.
In the spirit of the world’s politest travel document: the operator of this site requests and requires, in the name of every awkward traveller, that each insurer state plainly whom it will and will not cover, and that the bearer be allowed to shortlist them without let, hindrance, or a 40-page PDF.

90 seconds · no email · no personal data stored · you buy direct from the insurer
Break one assumption and the quote engines go blank. You’re not the edge case. You’re the customer they forgot. Someone will still insure you. The job is finding them.
Eligibility first. Price second.
Price only matters for policies you can actually buy, from insurers who would actually pay out. So we sort the market the other way round.
Who will take you
Residence, nationality, age, trip status, one-way, activities. We match your answers against each insurer’s published eligibility rules, not their marketing.
Why, or why not
Every verdict comes with the reason and the receipt: the rule, the source document, and the day we last checked it. “Not eligible” is an answer too. It saves you a claim denial.
Then you buy direct
We don’t sell insurance, quote prices or take your data. You finish on the insurer’s own site. Some links pay us a commission; it never changes who we show or in what order.
Three stamps to yes.
Tell us who’s travelling, honestly
Where you legally live, where you are right now, whether the trip already started, how old you are, what you’ll ride, climb or dive. The awkward questions are the whole point. They’re what insurers decide on.
We check the rulebooks
Your answers run against eligibility rules pulled from policy wordings and official FAQs, each with a source link, a confidence level and the date we last verified it. Grouped into strong match, worth checking, specialist and not eligible (with the reason).
Confirm and buy with the insurer
You leave with a short list and a checklist of things to confirm. The insurer’s quote flow has the final say. We show you what still needs their confirmation, so there are no surprises at claim time.
So… can you get cover?
Thirty-four insurers researched. Fourteen policies live in the checker so far. Zero of them pay to rank higher.
Run the check →Insurers we’ve actually read.
Hover a card for the fact most sites won’t tell you. Every rule in our engine links to the policy wording or official FAQ it came from.
Cards show a sample of each provider’s eligibility profile, condensed. “Checked” dates are real verification dates. This is information about published eligibility rules. It is not advice, a recommendation, or a guarantee of cover; insurers change rules and have the final say. Found something stale? Tell us and we’ll re-verify it.
We show our homework.
- Every fact has a source and a date. Policy wording beats FAQ, FAQ beats marketing page, and we tell you which one we used.
- Confidence is graded, not hidden. Verified-today facts rank above reported ones; anything unverified is flagged for you to confirm with the insurer.
- Commissions never touch the order. Results sort by eligibility confidence and fit. Providers with no affiliate deal appear identically. Several of our best matches pay us nothing.
- “We don’t know” is an allowed answer. When a rule can’t be verified, the card says so, and tells you exactly what to ask the insurer.
